Some memorable conversations

Just a few days ago:

Scott: Hey buddy, how's life treatin' ya?
Cade: Daddy, I have a problem in my life.
Scott: (Puzzled, taken aback a bit), What's that Cade?
Cade: Taking things away, eating, going on the potty, sharing, (on and on)
Scott: Really? Wow. That's a lot of problems. (chuckle)

Today in the car:
Me: (trying to get Cade in his car seat) Cade, sit in your seat.
Cade: Go away, Mommy.
Me: What? ( I buckle him in, we start driving, then he starts doing something he wasn't supposed to) Stop doing that, Cade.
Cade: I'm not going to stop, Mommy.
Me: (half chuckle) Excuse me, Mister?

Tonight when Scott's friend and coworker Jim stops by:
Jim walks in front door-
Cade: How was your day, Jim? You sell anything?
Jim: (laughing) As a matter of fact, I did. How's life today, Cade?
Cade: Good. I don't have any problems today.

Tonight trying to put Cade to bed:
Me: Cade, get in bed now (this was about the fifth time he came down the stairs with a grin after being put to bed so I escort him back upstairs again.)
Cade: I just missed you, Mommy.
Me: You need to go to bed NOW, Cade!
Cade: Mommy, that makes me sad when you are upset with me. (repeats himself a couple of times)
Me: Cade, I don't want you to be sad, and I am not upset with you, but you need to go to bed!

It's scary that he's starting to figure out this life thing!
