Colton's first haircut

Colton got his first "real" haircut today. I say "real" because Scott trimmed the back of his mullet a couple of weeks ago, but it wasn't enough. He needed the royal treatment of a hair salon. He was adorable. He cried as soon as they started with the scissors. But he just sat there. He didn't move. Just sat and looked at me and cried. I was smiling because it was so cute! Then I gave him a sucker and he calmed down for a minute. When she got out the clippers he was mesmerized and he stopped crying. It just got funnier and funnier. Here are some pics from the event.

A Very Merry Christmas

Just wanted to post some pics from Christmas at Nana and Papa's house! We had a blast, Cade was so excited when he woke up! Colton just liked climbing on all the new toys. Note: Colton's hair clearly needs a haircut! Look to next post for pics of that!

Notice- it's still dark outside! That's 'cause Mr. Cade woke up at 6:30!

The boys opening their stockings

The boys' new Diego sunglasses

Cade opening his first present- he said- "I asked Santa for this!" Scott and I felt good about that.

Colton on numerous toys- some that you are not supposed to necessarily "sit" on.

Santa forgot to bring me a haircut!

The end of a really good day!

A Spooky Christmas Tale, Anyone?

Every night before Cade goes to bed, he wants a spooky story. Spooky as in- a dark dark night, a scary house, a scary animal, or a giant. Yes, it all started around Halloween. But, it has continued. So, tonight, this is how our conversation went:

Cade: Mommy, I want a spooky story, no a spooky Christmas story!
Me: What would that be like, Cade?
Cade: Well, how 'bout Santa's flying his sled and he falls in a pool and the sharks try to get him!
Me: Okay, I suppose I could do that...

And so I did it. I told a spooky Christmas story that involved Santa and his reindeer almost getting eaten by sharks- real nice, eh? Well, don't worry, Cade and his brother Colton came to the rescue and saved Christmas! He loved it so much he wanted another spooky Christmas story, this one involving a mean Polar Bear!

I do love his imagination!
